A Message From the Founder
If you made it this far, I'd like to say thank you, and hope you can remain patient as we are on to something great, it will just take some time to get to where we want to be. At this point we are currently partaking in our own power year, the few of us that are working to bring the dream of The Power Year to life. Follow all the social accounts to remain up to date as they come to life and follow our members through there power year and feel free to post yours as well. At this point we are looking for bloggers in all areas of focus for the power year (Quit smoking, quit drinking, work out, eat healthy, etc.). These positions are entirely volunteer based, with the intention of one day making them paid positions. So we are looking for individuals that are currently working to make changes in their own life and would like to share what works and what doesn't as we stumble through the early stages of this together. Founder of The Power Year
What is a Power Year
For a long time now I have been wanting to make a large number of life changes/improvements, to live a happier/higher quality of life. This is not the first time I have tried to make changes and I'm sure it won't be the last, but due to the simple idea of taking one month at a time, I have never felt so confident about the year to come and the changes that I will be putting in place. I have been an on and off again smoker, drinker, weed smoker, more off than on working out, never drinking enough water/getting proper sleep, always eating out, and never really eating healthy. If this sounds like you, than a power year is calling your name. Even if you only want to focus on one of these areas the power year could still greatly benefit you.
How to Start a Power Year?
A power year is easy to begin, simply pick out 12 areas of focus, one per month, equaling a powerful year of change. (Note that some users may want to focus on one area for more than one month, for example a user may want to spend the first three months of the year focusing on getting on an effective workout plan. This is the beauty of the power year, it is totally customizable to suit your wants/needs to ensure you begin to live the life you want to live our job is to provide you with the content you need to make your dreams a reality. Another example is someone may decide to take a break from drinking every other month, and again this is fine too it is entirely up to you.
For me the way I am doing my power year is to focus on one thing per month starting with quitting smoking for the first month. After completing that month my plan is to just make that focus a part of my daily life, so in the case of quitting smoking for the first month, I do not continue to smoke after the month is up, I will just be a non smoker from that point on.
To create the content as we go through our own power year, helping new users by providing them customized content, progress tracking, and other important notifications directly to their phone day by day to match their focus and help them to accomplish their goals.
